The afterglow of GRB 050709 and the nature of the short-hard gamma-ray burst
Article Abstract:
The discovery of the X-ray afterglow of a short-hard burst, gamma-ray bursts (GRB) 050709, whose accurate position allows to associate it unambiguously with a star-forming galaxy at redshift z=0.160, and whose optical lightcurve definitively excludes a supernova association is reported. Results suggest that short-hard bursts release much less energy than the long-duration GRBs.

Early optical emission from the gamma-ray burst of 4 October 2002
Article Abstract:
Long-lived emission, or 'afterglow,' following a long-duration gamma-ray bursts has been found to occur only 193 seconds after the event, with an initial unexpectedly slow decline. Discusses the research, accompanied by a table, photographs and graphs.

Discovery of radio emission from the brown dwarf LP944-20
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the observation of flaring and quiescent radio emission from the brown dwarf LP944-20. The weakness of the magnetic field around this brown dwarf is discussed.
