The diffraction barrier broken
Article Abstract:
A technique that overcomes the diffraction barrier and can resolve objects separated by less than about 40 nm has been developed to provide the first in vitro images of the movements of single neuronal vesicles, the membrane-bound, bubble-like organelles that mediate communication between neurons. The conventional optical limitations of fluorescence microscopy is defied, to achieve nanoscale resolution of individual vesicle organelles at the junctions of neuronal cells.

Congressional agendas
Article Abstract:
The Democrats who will make up majorities in both houses of the 110th US Congress in January 2007 will have to exercise financial restraint. The Democrats cannot provide significant increases in overall funding as the new Congress must articulate more convincing reasons than have yet been heard for such a colossal expenditure.
