The effects of social status on food-associated calling behaviour in captive cotton-top tamarins
Article Abstract:
Cotton-top tamarins, Saguinus oedipus, experience three separate developmental processes with regard to the production and usage of food-associated calls as their social status changes. This research used two experiments to assess the impact of social environment on food-associated calling of cotton-top tamarins. Subordinate, subadult tamarins showed a rapid reduction in other vocalizations within feeding contexts after removal from family groups. The rate of this reduction corresponded with the extent of affiliative behaviour between the newly formed pairs.

Do female tamarins use visual cues to detect fruit rewards more successfully than do males?
Article Abstract:
The trichomatic vision in female tamarins does not confer an advantage for detecting yellow fruit rewards against mature foliage. The hypothesis of trichomatic pltyrrhines that use visual cues to detect fruit rewards more successfully than males do is tested and the study reveals that females and male do not defer in ability to locate or discriminate between feeding sites.

Spatial patterns of scent marking in wild moustached tamarins, Saguinus mystax: no evidence for territorial function
