The order of the quantum chromodynamics transition predicted by the standard model of particle physics
Article Abstract:
The nature of the quantum chromodynamics (QCD) transition was determined using computationally demanding lattice calculations for physical quark masses. The results from finite-size scaling analysis shows that the finite-temperature QCD transition in the hot early Universe was not a real phase transition, but an analytic crossover involving a rapid change, as opposed to a jump, as the temperature varied.

Vanishing pentaquarks
Article Abstract:
A high-statistics experiment at the Jefferson Laboratory in Virginia is unable to find any evidence that would support the existence of the 'pentaquark' particle. This can prove to be a serious setback for many scientists who had hoped that the particle revealed unexpected phenomena in quantum chromodynamics (QCD).

Strange days
Article Abstract:
In particle physics, new strange particles are discovered such as mesons, quarks, and antiquarks. These new particles have unusually elongated lifetime and their properties are investigated.
