A conceptual framework for nonkin food sharing: timing and currency of benefits
Article Abstract:
A conceptual framework categorizes nonkin food sharing according to the interval between sharing and receiving the benefits of sharing, and the currency units in which benefits accrue to the sharer. It is reported that sharer obtains benefits from increased foraging efficiency, mate provisioning or manipulative mutualism.

The fate of both natural history and naturalists in the modern world is examined from a historical perspective. The conclusion states that natural history is alive, but its future depends critically upon conceptual infusions from adjacent disciplines.
