Demographic Effects of Collecting Rattan Cane and Their Implications for Sustainable Harvesting
Article Abstract:
Rates of Calamus zollingeri rattan cane harvesting in Indonesia's Lore Lindu National Park are estimated based on ramet and genet populations and average C. zollingeri growth rates. Sustainable harvest rates are also calculated. Findings indicate that around 18% of Lore Lindu has a high probability of unsustainable, intensive harvesting.
