Tree-species competition and coexistence
Article Abstract:
According to the environmentalists C. K. Kelly and M. G. Bowler, environmental fluctuation promotes the coexistence of tree species. But the analysis on temperate forest claims that the fluctuations inferred from diameter distributions and age-diameter relationships, do not necessarily coincide with those suggested by the actual age data.

Coexistence of tropical tree species
Article Abstract:
The environmentalists C. K. Kelly and M. G. Bowler conducted a test by comparing differences between expected and observed age-class distributions for ecologically similar congeners. The result shows that rare species should exhibit greater deviation in recruitment of age-class than common species.

Experimental evidence for apparent competition in a tropical forest food web
Article Abstract:
Two species of herbivore from a community of leaf-mining insects in a tropical forest is experimentally removed. It is suggested that apparent competition may be important in structuring tropical insect communities.
