Lead- free piezoceramics
Article Abstract:
Lead-free piezoelectric ceramic with an electric-field-induced strain comparable to typical actuator-grade PZT is reported. Lead zirconium titanate ceramics are high-performance piezoelectric materials, which are widely used in sensors, actuators and other electronic devices and they contain more than 60 weight percent lead.

Lost lithium found
Article Abstract:
The lithium isotope results for rocks from the East Pacific Rise, a region of oceanic crust production that runs parallel to the west coast of the Americas are presented. It provides strong evidence for crustal recycling, but challenges the notion of simple reinjection and mixing of oceanic crust into the upper mantle.
