Ultraviolet light and leaf emission of NOx
Article Abstract:
Ultraviolet radiation induces the emission of nitrogen oxide radicals from Scots pine, indicating that boreal forests may be as significant a source of NOx in the atmosphere as are industrial and vehicular sources, according to researchers at the University of Helsinki, Harvard University and the Riso National Laboratory in Denmark. The source of the NOx has yet to be determined.

The human footprint in the carbon cycle of temperate and boreal forests
Article Abstract:
The study observation of forest carbon sequestration demonstrate that mankind plays an important role in controlling the carbon balance of temporate and boreal forests either directly through forest management or indirectly through nitrogen deposition.

Net carbon dioxide losses of northern ecosystems in response to autumn warming
Article Abstract:
The variations in the concentration of the atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration and ecosystem carbon dioxide fluxes are discussed. The analysis shows that the northern ecosystems lose carbon dioxide as a result of the autumn warming.
