Use of implanted radiotransmitters to estimate survival of greater sage-grouse chicks
Article Abstract:
Radiotransmitters were implanted subcutaneously in greater sage-grouse chicks by surgical procedure to study their survival rates post hatching. The results have shown that subcutaneous implants might be a useful method for attaching radiotransmitters to newly hatched sage-grouse chicks to estimate survival rates, identify causes of mortality and collect ecological data.

Survival, movements, and reproduction of translocated greater sage-grouse in Strawberry Valley, Utah
Article Abstract:
The methods used for translocating sage-grouse to Strawberry Valley and the efficacy of the translocation effort are described. Translocations are effective management tools for increasing small populations of greater sage-grouse when conducted during the breeding season and before target populations are extirpated.
