Neckband retention for lesser snow geese in the western Arctic
Article Abstract:
Rates of neckband loss are calculated for Chen caerulescens caerulescens, or lesser snow geese, banded between 1993 to 1996 in the Russian and Canadian western Arctic. Females were found to have higher neckband retention than males; overall neckband retention rates decreased with time. Since neckbanding is an important population monitoring technique, improved retention is crucial to future research.

Wetland environment conditions associated with the risk of avian cholera outbreaks and the abundance pasteurella multocida
Article Abstract:
The research conducted to know the causes of avian cholera in North American wildlife has revealed high presence of pasteurella multocida bacteria in American wetlands. Complete details of this research are presented.

Winter fidelity and apparent survival of lesser snow goose populations in the Pacific Flyway
Article Abstract:
Multistate mark-recapture models are used for evaluating the survival rates, resighting rates, winter fidelity and potential exchange among the lesser snow geese (Chen caerulescens caerulescens) populations in the Pacific Flyway. The studies have shown that northern and southern Wrangel Island subpopulations are considered a metapopulation in understanding and managing Pacific Flyway lesser snow geese.
