When climate and life finally devolve
Article Abstract:
The Earth will become uninhabitable sometime in the future as its temperature increases. When this will occur, however, is a matter of contention. The Sun is predicted to enter its red-giant phase in five billion years, but in only one billion years the increased radiance of the Sun and decreased geothermal heat flux will combine to lower the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide below that necessary for photosynthesis. The correspondence between the time window of the Earth's habitability and the time required for the development of intelligent life supports the anthropic cosmological principle.

Climate and cocaine
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted of the relationship between coca production and climate in the Chapare region of Bolivia. Using data on coca production obtained from the Bolivian government and rainfall statistics it was determined that number of days of rain per month is inversely related to coca production. It is hypothesized that adequate drying time for the coca leaves is required for the harvesting process. This requires at least two to three days.

Climate-driven variations in geothermal activity in the Northern Kenya rift valley
Article Abstract:
Age determination of geothermic discharge from volcanic centres in the northern Kenya rift valley show a correlation between periods of hot-spring activity and high lake levels for the past 200,000 years. This indicates that the presence of meteoric water during humid climates enhances heat and mass transfer from the deep underground levels to the earth's surface.
