p25 protein in neurodegeneration
Article Abstract:
Research indicating that the amount of p25, an abnormal truncated form of p35, a regulatory subunit of the protein kinase Cdk5, in the frontal cortex of patients with Alzheimer's disease or Down's syndrome is lower than in controls is discussed. This contradicts earlier research, and also suggests that this protein has been downregulated in these patients.

Human chromosome 21: landmarks in chromosome sequencing
Article Abstract:
A poster is presented which describes the landmarks which occurred from 1990 to 2000 in the sequencing of human chromosome 21. The techniques used to determine the make up of the chromosome are discussed.

The DNA sequence of human chromosome 21
Article Abstract:
The article maps out the sequence of human chromosome 21, which is responsible for the occurrence of Down Syndrome if three chromosome 21s exist instead of the normal 2.
