The author gives the second part of a memoir of her time with the Woizikowski company. The author joined the company in 1937, at a time before dance notation, when older dancers' memory of the steps and movements was even more important, and when she joined she immediately had a great many rehearsals.

Life as a ballet dancer is described. Lessons beginning at an early age, years of training before being accepted into a dance company, sacrifices made by the dancer and her mother, and experiences dancing in Europe are recounted. The narrative ends when its narrator is 17 and dancing in Russia.
