Wilson's Snow on the Mesa and Graham's repertory
Article Abstract:
The premiere of 'Snow on the Mesa' by Robert Wilson was the main attraction of four performances given by the Martha Graham Dance Company in New York, NY in Nov 1995. The work is based on Wilson's memories and impressions of Martha Graham and incorporates her melding of Eastern-Western aesthetics. 'Snow on the Mesa' is Wilson's first ballet for a modern company and reflects his brilliance both as a director and as a visual artist.
