Debut: Mercedes-Benz SLK: next year's slick roadster stars at the Turin auto show

Mercedes-Benz' new SLK sports car, which will be introduced to the US market in Feb 1997 at a price of about $40,000, is comparable to the BMW Z3. The US model will have a 94.5-in wheelbase, a 2.3-liter supercharged 4-cylinder engine and standard traction control.
