About half of the Ford Probe buyers have selected the V-6 GT model, but the base 4-cylinder model provides better fuel economy, adequate power and costs approximately $2,000 less than the GT. Testing of both the automatic transaxle and five-speed manual models are described.

The 1993 Ford Probe prototype is tested and evaluated. The 1993 model represents a vast improvement over the 1992 model. The unpredictability of the older model is gone, and in its place is a smooth and predictable sports car. Details of the 1993 model are described.

The long-term testing of a Ford Probe GT has begun with a favorable impression after 2,899 miles. The car's design and handling are impressive, but the 21 mpg is less than the logbook figures of 26 mpg.
