Many drivers believe that the Midwestern ASA racing circuit is key to joining the prestigious National Assn for Stock Car Auto Racing circuit. However, it appears that the USAC circuit is another excellent proving ground for young, would-be NASCAR racing drivers.

Winston Cup 1998: Gordon golden again

Gordon won his third Winston Cup title in four years. Gordon's performance in 1998 was characterized by 13 wins, seven pole starts, 26 top-five and 28 top-ten finishes. In addition, he won more than $6 million in winnings and bonuses during the year.
