The program has been designed to accommodate the interests and lifestyles of ASCPA members. Australia's financial reporting community has made a commitment to harmonizing the country's accounting standards with those of the International Accounting Standards Committee, but Australia's role in the process of setting international standards remain unclear. Article Abstract:

The Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants' (ASCPA) CPA Vision 2020 program is designed to assure that the organization continues to meet its members' needs, well into the next century. In particular, the program addresses members' needs for information, recognition and education. The CPA Vision 2020 program and ASCPA's Strategic Business Plan are discussed.
