Article Abstract:
Computer viruses can be circumvented if appropriate measures are taken. Malicious viruses cause damage by altering programs so that they will not perform as they should. Viruses are frequently spread by diskettes that are passed between users. However, procedures such as installing anti-virus software and scanning floppy disks before loading can minimize the risk of spreading or receiving a virus.
