Virtual firms trading online, known as disintermediators, are removing value from many Australian companies and could win over many profitable customers. The two main types of disintermediator are the seller-orientated disintermediator, which gathers and aggregates user information, and the the customer-orientated disintermediator, which allows customers to boost the value of their information profiles.
