Medical Credit
Article Abstract:
When a patient goes to a physician, he completes a new patient registration form. This is the same as a consumer who fills out a retail credit form. Both medical and retail credit managers use credit bureau terminals for credit reports. A problem with patients and their medical payments, is that the patient does not fully understand his coverage under his insurance policy. Thus when items are not paid for by medical insurance, the patient is often not prepared to pay his bill. Medical credit managers handle credit as do their retail counterparts. Interest is charged on overdue accounts. Patients are sent collection letters. Lawsuits are filed.
