Identification of fluoropyrogallols as new intermediates in biotransformation of monofluorophenols in Rhodococcus opacus 1cp
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the monofluorophenols. Results demonstrate that fluoropyrogallols are involved in the monofluorophenol biotransformation in Rhodococcus opacus 1cp.

Conversion of 2-fluoromuconate to cis-dienelactone by purified enzymes of Rhodococcus opacus 1cp
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on 1,2-dioxygenase, chloromuconolactone dehalogenase and chloromuconate cycloisomerase from Rhodococcus opacus 1cp grown on 2-chlorophenol. Results demonstrate that 2-fluoromuconate can be converted to 5-fluoromuconolactone by chloromuconate cycloisomerase, and that 5-fluoromuconolactone can be dehalogenated to cis-dienelactone by chloromuconolactone dehalogenase.

19F nuclear magnetic resonance as a tool to investigate microbial degradation of fluorephenols to fluorocatechols and fluoromuconates
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the biodegradation and oxidative biodehalogenation of fluorinated phenols using the 19F nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) method. The 19F NMR chemical shift values of fluorocatechols and fluoromuconates were identified using purified phenol hydroxylase and catechol 1,2-dioxygenase. Results indicate that the species offers good possibilities for the demonstration and identification of different fluoromuconate and fluorocatechol intermediates in metabolic pathways.
