A DNA replication-arrest site RTS1 regulated imprinting by determining the direction of replication at mat1 in S. pombe
Article Abstract:
A DNA replication-arrest site RTS1 has been found to regulate imprinting by specifying the direction of replication at mat1 in Schizosaccharomyces pombe. The TRS1 barrier is shown to be a polar terminator of replication that optimizes imprinting by controlling the direction of replication at mat1. In higher eukaryotes there may be a more general role in development/differentiation, regulating the direction of DNA replication at important loci.

Meiotic DNA replication checkpoint control in fission yeast
Article Abstract:
The article explores the molecular level of a DNA replication during meiosis in fission yeast. Checkpoint mechanisms that operate in meiotic cells and not in mitotic ones, and the difference between meiotic and mitotic cell cycles, are discussed.
