A FRET-based sensor reveals large ATP hydrolysis-induced conformational changes and three distinct states of the molecular motor myosin
Article Abstract:
Results show that cysteine engineering of the myosin molecule produces a large ~70 degree nucleotide-dependent angle change in the light chain of the binding region. Data indicate that the bound magnesium-ADP.Pi is involved in the adoption to prestroke states by myosin.

Molecular motor take tension in stride
Article Abstract:
Analysis of single-molecule have shown how a wide variety of eukaryotic motor proteins sense and respond to tension. A description of single motor studies on dynein is presented enabling one to understand molecular mechanisms used by this unique machine.

The mechanism of myosin VI translocation and its load-induced anchoring
Article Abstract:
Myosin VI is thought to perform both roles as a transporter and an anchor. A mechanism of myosin VI stepping that predicts a regulation through load of the motor's roles as transporter and anchor is proposed.
