Cdc13 both positively and negatively regulates telomere replication
Article Abstract:
Research shows that the single-strand telomeric DNA-binding protein Cdc13 exhibits two regulatory roles, positively influencing telomere replication by binding of telomerase and negatively by binding of Cdc13-interacting protein Stn1 to Cdc13 sites.

A model for the abrogation of the SOS response by an SOS protein: a negatively charged helix in DinI mimics DNA in its interaction with RecA
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that the C-terminal alpha-helix is the active site of the SOS negative regulator protein DinI in Escherichia coli. Data further reveal that the alpha-helix is negatively charged and interferes in the RecA activation by interacting with the homologous pairing region of RecA.

Ku interacts with telomerase RNA to promote telomere addition at native and broken chromosome ends
Article Abstract:
Results demonstrate that the DNA end-binding protein Ku binds the RNA component of telomerase, TLC1, and disruption of the binding leads to 10- to 100-fold reduction in the telomere-mediated DNA repair. Data suggest that the interaction between Ku and TLC1 RNA aids telomerase activity at both broken and normal chromosome ends.
