A gene encoding a novel multidomain beta-1,4-mannanase from caldibacillus cellulovorans and action of the recombinant enzyme on kraft pulp
Article Abstract:
Results show that the multidomain beta-1,4-mannanase gene consists of 4,567 base pair nucleotide sequence and 3 open reading frames. Data also indicate that the recombinant mannases along with beta-xylanase increase the brightness of the bleached pulp.

A novel thermostable multidomain 1,4-beta-xylanase from 'Candibacillus cellulovorans' and effect of its xylan-binding domain on enzyme activity
Article Abstract:
Research describes cloning, sequencing, and expression of the10 beta-xylanase gene from a new thermophilic spore producing aerobic bacterium 'Candibacillus cellulovorans'. Data show that the gene encoded protein exhibits a single xylan-binding domain and two cellulose-binding domains and absence of the former affects the thermostability of the enzyme's catalytic domain.

Cloning of the xynB gene from Dictyoglomus thermophilum Rt46B.1 and action of the gene product on kraft pulp
Article Abstract:
A second xylanase gene (xynB) from Dictyoglomus thermophilum Rt46B.1 was identified using a two-step polymerase chain reaction (PCR) protocol, cloned and expressed. The two-step PCR consisted of a consensus PCR to identify any family 11 xylanase genes in the Rt46B.1 genome and a genomic walking PCR to sequence family 11 xylanases. The XynB xylanase was able to enhance the bleachability of eucalypt kraft-oxygen pulp in both elemental chlorine-free (ECF) and total chlorine-free bleaching and that of Pinus radiata kraft-oxygen pulp in ECF bleaching.
