A pattern-based method for the identification of microRNA binding sites and their corresponding heteroduplexes
Article Abstract:
A pattern-based ma22 approach for the discovery of microRNA binding sites and their corresponding microRNA/mRNA complexes is presented. The findings suggest that some microRNAs might have as many as a few thousand targets, and that between 74% and 92% of the gene transcripts in four model genomes are likely under microRNA control through their untranslated and amino acid coding regions.

Requirement of DDX3 DEAD box RNA helicase for HIV-1 Rev-RRE export function
Article Abstract:
The evidence that Rev/CRM1 (chromosome maintenance region 1) activity utilizes the ATO-dependent DEAD (D-E-A-D = Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box RNA helicase, DDX3 is presented. The DDX3 is a nucleo-cytoplasmic shuttling protein, which binds CRM1 and localizes to nuclear membrane pores.

Molecular basis for the recognition of primary microRNAs by the Drosha-DGCR8 complex
Article Abstract:
Studies found that the Drosha-DGCR8 complex initiates microRNA maturation by precise cleavage of the stem loops, which are embedded in primary transcripts. A model is proposed for this process that is based upon evidence from both computational and biochemical analyses.
