A telomeric repeat sequence adjacent to a DNA double-stranded break produces an anticheckpoint
Article Abstract:
The ability of an internal telomeric sequence to inhibit a DNA damage checkpoint response is described. DSB (double-strand breaks) adjacent to a telomeric repeat sequence successfully activated the DNA damage checkpoint response, which was lost 1-2h later so it is proposed that after formation of the DSB near the telomeric repeat, a mature telomere forms, containing proteins that inhibit checkpoint signaling from nearby DNA breaks.

Article Abstract:
The universal strategies that characterize bacterial quorum sensing are reviewed and a glimpse is provided of the diverse physiological settings in which it operates. A discussion is presented on evidence for quorum sensing in different fungal species, considering an especially compelling case in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
