Advancing biocultural models by working with communities: A partnership approach
Article Abstract:
A study of the interrelationships between toxicant exposure, health and culture among the youth of the Mohawk Nation at Akwesasne is used to analyze the strengths and challenges of a partnership approach to biocultural research. This shows the utility of approach for understanding the relationships of toxicants to behavior.

Climatic variability and the population dynamics of historical hunter-gatherers: the case of Sami of Northern Finland
Article Abstract:
A study examines how climate affected the population dynamics of hunter-gatherers. In three historical Sami populations, it is found that the dynamics of historical Sami seem to be only weakly associated with annual mean temperature, which might indicate that these populations, are rather unaffected by climatic variation.

Geometric morphometric study of population variation in indigenous southern African crania
Article Abstract:
Khoisan-Bantu morphological similarities and differences are investigated to examine variation within both the Bantu-speaking and Khoisan populations. It is suggested that differential admixture with adjacent Khoisan people contributed to diversity within southern African Bantu-speaking populations.
