Alpha-catenin is a molecular switch that binds E-cadherin-beta-catenin and regulates actin-filament assembly
Article Abstract:
The stable structures maintaining the structural integrity of tissues are the cell junctions organized by adhesion proteins and underlying actin cytoskeleton. The intracellular domain of cadherins binds cytoplasmic proteins that include a high affinity binding of beta-catenin to cadherin cytoplasmic domain.

Integrating adhesion, protrusion, and contraction during cell migration
Article Abstract:
The integration of adhesion and cytoskeletal dynamics in order to optimize cell migration speed is described. The actin-integrin linkage is found to be a critical site that integrates adhesion, signaling and protrusion, but some highly motile cells have not shown the highly organized adhesions.

Can 1000 reviews be wrong? Actin, alpha-catenin, and adherens junctions
Article Abstract:
Surveys courses reveal essential facts such as cadherin-based cell-cell adhers junctions mediate adhesion and are responsible for anchoring the actin cytoskeleton. Alpha-catenin rather than being a stable link to actin might in fact be a key regulator of actin dynamics.
