Aging reduces proliferative capacities of liver by switching pathways of C/EBP(alpha) growth arrest
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on liver specific protein C/EBP(alpha) which arrests hepatocyte proliferation via cyclin dependent kinase inhibition. The authors demonstrate that aging leads liver-specific pathways of C/EBP(alpha) growth arrest to E2F transcription repression.

State of the Arg: protein methylation at arginine comes of age
Article Abstract:
The authors review publications on posttranslation protein modification. The topics of interest include the methylation and methyltransferase enzyme function, the effect of the argenine methylation on the protein-protein interactions and the roles of methylation.
