Azopirillum brasilense produces the auxin-like phenylacetic acid by using the key enzyme for indole-3-acetic acid biosynthesis
Article Abstract:
An antimicrobial compound is isolated from Azopirillum brasilense culture extracts by high-performance liquid chromatography and is further identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry as the auxin0like molecule, phenylacetic acid (PAA). The results of the PAA synthesis is found to be mediated by the indole-3-pyruvate decarboxylase, previously identified as key enzyme in indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) production in Azospirillum brasilense.

Cloning and characterization of a novel [beta]-transaminase from Mesorhizobium sp. strain LUK: A new biocatalyst for the synthesis of enantiomerically pure [beta]-amino acids
Article Abstract:
The cloning of a novel [beta]-transaminase gene from Mesorhizobium sp. strain LUK showing a high activity for [beta]-aminocarboxylic acid is described. The results have shown that [beta]-transminase of Mesorhizobium sp. strain LUK is a promising biocatalyst for the preparation of chiral [beta]-aminocarboxylic acids.
