The yexA gene product is required for phosphoribosylformylglycinamidine synthetase activity in Bacillus subtilis
Article Abstract:
Research shows that synthetase activity in Bacillus subtilis bacteria is dependent on the yexA gene product. Data also reveal that yexA gene sequence similarity is also seen in gram-positive bacteria, cyanobacterium and in methanogenic archaea.

Catabolite repression of dra-nupC-pdp operon expression in Bacillus subtilis
Article Abstract:
Research demonstrates that the CcpA-mediated catabolite repression of the dra-nupC-pdp operon is regulated via catabolite-responsive elelment sequence. Data indicate that Hpr, an Hpr-like protein Crh, and a transcription-repair coupling factor Mfd also play a role in the catabolite control of the operon expression.

Bacilus subtilis guanine deaminase is encoded by the yknA gene and is induced during growth with purines as the nitrogen source
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on Bacilus subtilis. The ability of B. subtilis to utilize guanine as nitrogen source via deamination of guanine to xanthine catalyzed by guanine deaminase has been investigated, and the details are reported.
