Biochemical and genetic analysis of the yeast proteome with a movable ORF collection

Article Abstract:

Functional analysis of the proteome is an essential part of genomic research and to facilitate different proteomic approaches, a Moveable ORF (MORF) library of 5854 yeast expression plasmide was constructed, each expressing a sequence-verified ORF as a C-terminal ORF fusion protein, under regulated control. Global analysis of glycosylated proteins identifies 109 new confirmed N-linked and 345 candidate glycoproteins, nearly doubling the known yeast glycome.

The t-complex-encoded guanine nucleotide exchange factor Fgd2 reveals that two opposing signaling pathways promote transmission ratio distortion the mouse

Article Abstract:

Study is presented to show that Fgd2, encoding a Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor, maps to the Tcd2 region. A loss-of-function allele of Fgd2 generated by gene targeting reduces the transmission ratio of the t haplotype [t.sup.h49], directly showing the role of Fgd2 as Distorter.

tRNA (super His), maturation: an essential yeast protein catalyzes addition of a guanine nucleotide to the 5' end of tRNA (super His)

Article Abstract:

Thg1p is identified by a survey of a genomic collection of yeast GST-ORF fusion proteins for addition of [alpha minus (super 32) P] GTP to tRNA (super His). Thg1p can catalyze phosphodiester bond formation at the 5' end of RNA in a 3'-5' direction.
