Geographic and environmental sources of variation in lake bacterial community composition
Article Abstract:
A study was carried out to reveal that the lake bacterial community composition displayed coherent geographical variation on both regional and landscape scales, and bacterial communities in different lakes may also display coherent temporal variation. The importance of spatial and temporal structure in the community ecology of pelagic lake bacteria is highlighted.

Genome organization and localization of the pufLM genes of the photosynthesis reaction center in phylogenetically diverse marine alphaproteobacteria
Article Abstract:
Pulse-field gel electrophoresis in marine phototrophic alphaproteobacteria is used to study genome organization, plasmid content and localization of pufLM genes. The methods and results are discussed.
