C. elegans GLA-3 is a novel component of the MAP kinase MPK-1 signaling pathway required for germ cell survival
Article Abstract:
GLA-3 is identified, cloned, and analyzed in a genetic screen for novel genes involved in germline apoptosis in Caenorhabditid elegans. The results show that GLA-3 is a component of the MAPK cascade that controls meiotic progression and apoptosis in the Caenorhabditis elegans germline and functions as a negative regulator of the MAPK signaling pathway during vulval development and in muscle cells.

Neuronal signaling modulates protein homeostasis in Caenorhabditis elegans post-synaptic muscle cells
Article Abstract:
Neuronal signaling is shown to be an important modulator of protein homeostasis in post-synaptic muscle cells. The exposure to [gamma]-aminobutyric acid (GABA) antagonists or ACh agonists has similar effects and the results have shown the importance of intercellular communication in intracellular homeostasis.
