Chromosomal location of Hessian fly-resistance genes H22, H23, and H24 drived from the Triticum tauschii in the D genome of wheat
Article Abstract:
The resistance of the common wheat, Triticum aestivum, against the Hessian fly is imparted by three genes, H22, H23 and H24, from the D-genome derived from T. tauschii. Mapping of these genes was carried out using monosomic analysis. Results reveal that the genes for H22, H23 and H24 are found in chromosomes 1D, 6D and 3D respectively. Allelic relationship between H23 and H13 was also probed. Results reveal that the two genes found on the same chromosome are independent.

A noncompensating wheat-rye translocation maintained in perpetual monosomy in alloplasmic wheat
Article Abstract:
The rye cytoplasm-containing alloplasmic wheat possess a translocated chromosome, T3AL-1RL. The 1RL arm is from rye and the 3AL arm is from wheat. The exchange between chromosomes 1RL and 3AL is a noncompensating translocation between nonhomologous chromosome arms. Plants monosomic for the translocated chromosome are also monosomic for chromosome 3A. They are vigorous and high tillering. They are also selfing thus keeping T3AL-1RL monosomic.

The deletion stocks of common wheat
Article Abstract:
The deletion stocks of common wheat (Chinese spring) show alterations in physiological, morphological, and biochemical traits according to the size of the chromosomal deficiency. They are useful in mapping genes that control phenotypic traits, in situ hybridization sites, biochemical markers, and DNA fragments. They are powerful for mapping dominant genes in the Chinese spring and recessive genes in other cultivars.
