Chromosomes of Alouatta seniculus (Platyrrhini, primates) from French Guiana
Article Abstract:
A study of karyotypes of 42 specimens of Alouatta seniculus or Howler Monkeys from French Guiana shows that all except one specimen have diploid chromosome numbers ranging from 47 to 49. The presence of one to three supernumerary or B-chromosomes causes the variation in chromosome numbers. Males have a Y autosome translocation that involves an individual biarmed autosome. Pairs 9, 12, 14, 19, 21, and 22 exhibit different degrees of chromosome heteromorphism with variations in the amount of heterochromatin. The nature of heteromorphism in pair 7 is different for males and females.

Chromosomal evolution in gazelles
Article Abstract:
Chromosomal data analysis was applied to examine the phylogeny and taxonomy of gazelles and create the genus' phylogenetic tree. Fibroblast cultures of various deer species were prepared and organized according to cattle standard karyotype. Chromosome arm homeologies were observed in greater numbers than shared biarmed systems. Chromosome Y was a translocation factor for subgenus Nanger and two other breeds.

Nine new cases of reciprocal translocation in the domestic pig (Sus scrofa domestica L.)
Article Abstract:
Reciprocal translocations are well known in the domestic pig (Sus scrofa domestica L.), representing a widespread chromosome aberration. Nine new cases of reciprocal translocation have been cytogenetically identified in hypoprolific boars, and in pigs sired by hypoprolific boars. The consequences on prolificacy are estimated, and the putative origin and transmission in a pedigree are examined.
