DNA barcoding in animal species: Progress, potential and pitfalls
Article Abstract:
The progress, potential and pitfalls of DNA barcoding used in animal species are examined. DNA barcoding has shown considerable potential as a system for identifying species that allow users to link specimens to databases of taxonomic information. But its success will depend on the rationalization and coordination of the many online species identification programs, so that enough resources can be concentrated to develop rapid in situ sequencing.

Evolution of behaviour: Bridging the gap between evolutionary and developmental genetics
Article Abstract:
A study points out the importance of a dialogue between evolutionary and developmental genetics for understanding the evolution of complex traits. In line with the aim of bridging the gap between the two, the symposium 'Evolutionary genetics of sexual behaviour' was held at 10th Congress of the European Society for Evolutionary Biology in Krakow.
