Research has been conducted on chlorpyrifos-degrading bacteria. The role of these bacteria in chlorpyrifos degradation in different pH soils, and the role of enhanced degradation in efficacy loss of chlorpyrifos in Australian soils have been investigated and discussed.

Biodegradation of chlorpyrifos by Enterobacter strain B-14 and its use in bioremediation of contaminated soils
Article Abstract:
The six chlorpyrifos-degrading strains were isolated from the soil and then the pathway of degradation and the ecological factors that govern chlorpyrifos degradation in soil were investigated. The results highlight the potential of the bacterium to be used in the cleanup of contaminated pesticide waste in the environment.
