Discovery of natural atypical Listeria seeligeri isolates
Article Abstract:
Seven Listeria isolates were found, initially identified as isolates with the [[Xyl].sup.+] [[Rha].sup-] biotype of Listeria welshimeri by phenotypic tests, which exhibited discrepant genotypic properties in a well-validated Listeria species identification oligonucleotide microarray. The microarray gives results of the seven isolates being atypical hly-negative Listeria seeligeri isolates not Listeria welshimeri isolates.

The presence of the internalin gene in natural atypically hemolytic Listeria innocua strains suggests descent from L. monocytogenes
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to understand the evolutionary changes leading to the genome structure and content of Listeria innocua, Listeria monocytogenes phylogenetic branch as well as of the taxonomic status of intermediate of Listeria isolates. The results suggest that a common ancestor of Listeria monocytogenes and Listeria innocua existed, which is evidenced by Listeria innocua strain PRL/NW15B95.

Epidemic clone I-specific genetic markers in strains of Listeria monocytogenes serotype 4b from foods
Article Abstract:
The contamination of the ready to eat foods with Listeria monocytogenes causes a risk to the health and the strains indicated in the illnesses may be just a minute portion of that which has contaminated the food. The various strains of Listeria monocytogenes of serotype 4b are procured from regular survey of foods and the atmosphere in which the food is processed are classified.
