Effect of high-pressure-induced ice I-to-Ice III phase transitions on inactivation of Listeria innocua in frozen suspension
Article Abstract:
The inactivation of Listeria innocua BGA 3532 at very low temperatures with pressures ranging up to 400 MPa in the shock absorbing solution was checked to identify the effect of high-pressure action on bacteria in frozen matrices. The various uses of high-pressure-induced I-to-Ice III phase transitions comprise of crumbling of the cell for the revival of intracellular mechanism and inactivation of microorganisms in frozen food.

A novel alpha-proteobacterium resides in the mitochondria of ovarian cells of the ixodes ricinus
Article Abstract:
An intracellular bacterium from ixodes ricnus ticks collected in Italy is characterized by electron microscopy (EM), PCR sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene, molecular phylogenetic analysis, and in situ hybridization (ISH). In spite of the apparent parasitism of host mitochondria by IricESI, the available information suggests that the bacterium has an obligate relationship with its host, although this is not yet confirmed.

Replication of the endosymbiotic bacterium Blochmannia floridanus is correlated with the developmental and reproductive stages of its ant host
Article Abstract:
The vast impact of the replication of the intracellular endosymbiotic bacterium blochmannia floridanus was identified at the time when the formation of larva of the host ant camponotus floridanus took place. Moreover the symbiosis process is required much more by the insects in the early stages of their growth rather than by the adult insects.
