Disintegration of Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilms under glucose-limiting conditions depends on the activity of the alternative sigma factor sigma(super B)
Article Abstract:
The effect of nutrient limitation on Staphylococcus epidermidis is investigated to evaluate the role of the polysaccharide intercellular adhesin as an energy-storage molecule. The stability of established biofilms depends on sigma(super B), however, the slow decay of biofilms under conditions of nutrient limitation reveal its use as an energy-storage molecule to be unlikely.

Effect of extracellular products of pseudoalteromonas Atlantica on the edible crab cancer pagurus
Article Abstract:
Studies have shown that injection of extracellular products pseudoalteromonas Atlantica into health crabs causes instant death. The nature of the lethal factors in the extracellular products (ECP) of P. Atlantica and the effects on crab tissues were studied and it was seen that main factor for death is lipopolysaccharide acting alone or in combination with other factors.

Crucial role of extracellular polysaccharides in desiccation and freezing tolerance in the terrestrial cyanobacterium Nostoc Commune
Article Abstract:
The role of extracellular polysaccharides (EPS) in the desiccation tolerance of photosynthesis in Nostoc Commune is examined. The results suggest that EPS of Nostoc Commune is crucial for the stress tolerance of photosynthesis during desiccation and during freezing and thawing.
