Crossover/noncrossover differentiation, synaptonemal complex formation, and regulatory surveillance at the Leptotene/Zygotene transition of meiosis
Article Abstract:
An analysis was conducted on yeast mutants not having proteins, Zip1, Zip2, Zip3, Mer3 and Msh5 for synaptomal complex, recombination and meiotic progression. The results showed that high temperature is a positive effector in the first two steps of meiotic recombination.

Early Decision: meiotic crossover interference prior to stable strand exchange and synapsis
Article Abstract:
Studies conducted in budding yeast shows that crossovers (CO) and noncrossovers (NCO) designation occurs before stable strand exchange. The results throw new light on the regulation of meiotic recombination and its relationship to chromosome synapsis.
