Evolution of the gelsolin family of actin-binding proteins as novel transcriptional coactivators
Article Abstract:
A growing body of evidence supporting a biological role in the nucleus for actin, Arps and actin-binding proteins and the gelsolin family of actin-binding proteins is presented. It is suggested that several members of the gelsolin family may have adopted unexpected nuclear functions including a role in regulating transcription.

Structural and functional diversity of adaptor proteins involved in tyrosine kinase signaling
Article Abstract:
The structural and functional characterization of adaptors involved in tyrosine kinase (TK) signalling was reviewed. It was suggested that adaptors have important regulatory roles rather than acting only as stable linkers in signal transduction.

Short tandem repeats are associated with diverse mRNAs encoding membrane-targeted proteins
Article Abstract:
Three approaches were used to observe the involvement of short tandem repeats (STR) in different mRNAs encoding membrane-targeted proteins. The data used were consistent with lot of nonconflicting theories trafficking such mRNAs.
