Fetal programming: Adaptive life-history tactics or making the best of a bad start?
Article Abstract:
Several classical models in life-history theory are reviewed and their relative merits and weaknesses for human biology are discussed. A stage-structured stochastic population model is used to demonstrate that the future consequences of early deprivation may be 'making the best of a bad start' rather than an adaptation per se.

Fluctuating asymmetry predicts human reactive aggression
Article Abstract:
Fluctuating symmetry [FA] is used as a marker for prenatal stress and that high levels of FA are associated with elevated levels of human reactive aggression are studied. The results show that individualEs phenotype and intensity of provocation are important determinants of individual and sex differences in aggression.

Season of birth and fluctuating asymmetry
Article Abstract:
The relationship between the season of birth and fluctuating asymmetry (FA) is studied, using the data collected for 205 males and females on FA. It is observed that winter and spring births are more prone towards asymmetric developmental trajectory.
