Caspases signal not only apoptosis but also antigen-induced activation in cells of the immune system
Article Abstract:
Caspases have been found to signal apoptosis and also antigen-induced activation in immune system cells and caspase 8 is critical for both activation and death of cells of the immune system , a paradox. C aspaces, especially caspase 8, may have a role in the immune system promoting lymphocyte activation and proliferation.

Genetic analysis of Pten and Tsc2 functional interactions in the mouse reveals asymmetrical haploinsufficiency in tumor suppression
Article Abstract:
The tumorigenesis in the Pten(super +/-)Tsc(super +/-) compound mouse mutants is examined for determining the genetic relationship between mammalian Pten and Tsc2 in tumor suppression. Pten and Tsc2 were found to be haploinsufficient for suppression of tumorigenesis initiated by Pten heterozygosity.
