Genetic analysis of triploidy in a selected line of chickens
Article Abstract:
Triploidy resulting from maternal meiotic error in a selected line of chickens was investigated in the first filial generation and backcross generation to determine the pattern of inheritance of this genetic anomaly. The inheritance of maternal meiotic errors appears to be controlled by a single autosomal gene without dominance or two loci inheritance based on the results of the hybridization studies. Although the evidence for a genetic inheritance of this trait is strong, a multifactorial pattern of inheritance cannot be completely ruled out.

Analysis of microsatellites and parentage testing in saltwater crocodiles
Article Abstract:
Fifteen microsatellite loci are evaluated in farmed saltwater crocodiles for use in parentage testing. The use of these microsatellite markers will broaden the scope of a breeding program, allowing progeny to be tested from adults maintained in large breeding lagoons for selection as future breeding animals.

First evidence of higher female recombination in a species with temperature-dependent sex determination: The saltwater crocodile
Article Abstract:
The first evidence of genetic linkage in a crocodilian species is described. It was seen that crocodilians, like some species of turtles and lizards do not have sex chromosomes and their sex is determined by the incubation temperature.
