Genetic and morphological characterization of Cladobotryum species causing cobweb disease of mushrooms
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the genetic and morphological characterization of Cladobotryum species causing cobweb disease of mushrooms. The conidial morphology of the cobweb pathogen was compared with those of C dendroides and C. mycophilum while molecular data were compared with those of Cladobotryum species reported to be related to the cobweb disease of Agaricus bisporus. Results contradict previous findings that none of the agaricicolous species of Hypomyces, including C. mycophilum, were associated with A. bisporus.

Comparison of the post-Chernobyl Cs contamination of mushrooms from Eastern Europe, Sweden, and North America
Article Abstract:
The cesium levels of fungi samples from several locations in Europe were compared to samples taken from northern Michigan and southern Ontario. Various intermediate geometries were used to analyze the mushrooms and the results were normalized to the standard geometry for comparative purposes. Results indicate that the Chernobylaccident has a bearing on the activity values of cesium in the mushrooms samples.

The general secretory pathway of Burkholderia gladioli pv. agaricicola BG164R is necessary for cavity disease in white button mushrooms
Article Abstract:
The isolation and characterization of Burkholderia gladioli pv. agaricicola BG164R strain that no longer cause cavity disease in white button mushrooms is described. The analysis has shown that pathogen produces both hypha-degrading enzymes and toxins and that cavity disease symptoms are a combined effect of the toxin and the enzymes.
